in Credit cards
I opened an AA/MasterCard Credit Card account some months ago, tranfering a balance from another card to it and also used it to make some purchaes.
However, I recently tried to transfer the outstanding balance from this AA/MasterCard to a different card and found that this was refused by Barclays, Tesco, MBNA and Bank of Scotland.
All would allow me to open a new credit card account but would not accept a balance transfer from the AA card, which is operated by the Bank of Ireland (UK) plc with an address in Belfast.
Has any one else had this experience ?

I think a lot of customers who took this card out will be in for a sharp shock come the end of their interest free period.I'm a Board Guide on the Credit Cards, Loans, Credit Files & Ratings boards. Bit of a thread revival, I am having the same situation but may be able to shed some light on the reason.
I came across this thread in a google search.
I am trying to transfer a balance away from The AA Credit Card, which has been rejected.
After several phone calls, the reason is that The AA Credit Card used to be operated by MBNA.
Since July 2015 it has been operated by the Bank of Ireland.
When you pay your balance on a credit card, the money goes into a holding account, tagged with your credit card number as the reference.
The account details for payments are shown on the back of your card statement.
The problem is that Other banks seem to have the MBNA account details for The AA Credit card, not the Bank of Ireland details. I have confirmed this with my new card provider (HSBC) who say, the Bank of Ireland are responsible for sending the update so that other banks have the correct account details.
Apparently, The Bank of Ireland haven't communicated to other banks that they now operate the card.
Until this is done, I guess balance transfers from the AA will be rejected as the new card issuer is trying to pay into an account that does not own credit card referenced.
No resolution as of yet but at least it makes sense why the balance transfers are being rejected.
