......at least that was the consensus at the last CBI dinner I was at.

If you do my friend, then I suspect you have a limited experience of such matters.

Thank you my friend ..... but I suspect that you are wrong.

Not according to the WTO figures.

You missed posting the actual figures.

Anyway, I'm out off to enjoy a nice meal. Tomorrow I'm in the office to work on a restructuring of an engineering firm. Cant remember the exact figure, but over 60% of it exports go to the EU. Its become a much less attractive business in the last week.

Well don't leave until you have posted the figures that show that two countries wishing to sign a trade treaty takes longer than a country signing a trade treaty with the EU .......;)

I presume you know who the CBI represents?!

In all honesty I hope you are right, and I am wrong. We are not in a great place otherwise. For reference, my back ground is in restructuring, administration and infrastructure law. I speak to directors daily, and I am still to come across one this is pleased with the outcome.

You really didn't need to waste that cash on attending a CBI dinner to know that the CBI were for remaining did you.

You perhaps have missed that the wishes of big business are not always altruistic and are not always entirely and completely in sync with all the other societies stake holders.

CBI members have a short and medium focus. The vote for brexit wasn't about the short or medium term, but was about the longer term and was about wider issues than what is simply good for CBI members.

You are lucky that she is still getting changed !!

The study I'm referring to is in a book called "Bilateral and Regional Trade Agreements- Vol 1". There is a table towards the start of the book, but you'll have to refer the text itself on the negotiations. Its actually not a hard book to follow, and should be available on Google Scholar.

    I didn't pay. I was a guest (of a charity, funnily enough!)

True, but I cant think of a better indicator of the general business community. If you can, I'd be grateful to know.
