Five or ten years ago I'd have felt same as you...thoroughly miffed

Present day me sees opportunity...cos present day me has discovered ikea and pinterest and baskets and free standing wardrobe fittings and so on. I had a large built in wardrobe in our last house and for the first few yrs it was disorganised as just had a pole across with clothes on then all sorts of shoes and things chucked loosely in the bottom. Then I discovered I could fit a full size chest of drawers inside said wardrobe and storage boxes either side and above pole. Honestly the stuff I could neatly fit in was amazing.

You, pal, you now have the freedom to buy awesome ikea storage units or a mix of poles and boxes and what not so you can pack Mary poppins whole house in there, then you can shut your sliding doors and hide it from the world.

    Winner!
