Perhaps a rare, positive story.
I went onto the Virgin Media website to use their "Moving House" feature. I had the option phoning or chatting via a little chat application. I chose the chat application as I do not really like spending hours on the phone.
I wanted to move broadband to my new address and get phone and TV rather than have multiple providers for these. When I was given the price, I was a bit disappointed and told them so. They immediately offered money off the monthly bill without downgrading anything. I said that it was still not as cheap as keeping my BT line. They dropped the monthly price by £10 for the first 12 months and by £3 thereafter. Not life-changing amounts, but £120 off in the first year and an ongoing saving, compared to just taking price as it came.
I will continue to haggle with other things as every little helps!

To err is human, but it is against company policy.
