Oh dear, I'm afraid that one really tickled my funnybone! :rotfl: I shall pass it on to every woman/girl I know. Did your Mum have any more pearls like that, Queenie? I hope no men are reading this thread or they may try to get their own back!

ceegee - my mother came out with all sorts of gems! Thing is, she used to say all these things when we were kids and took her literally. Half of what she said is only becoming "translatable" as I get older.

I'll be doing something and then I get a  moment and think: "So *that*'s what she was talking about!"

I have liver and onions in the slow cooker, wholemeal bread in breadmaker and a pot of home made jam (made in breadmaker) in fridge - will make my first home made ice cream (with new ice cream maker) this afternoon!

All purchases were made with advice from this site - family has never eaten so well - I am saving money - and avoiding additives and added fats and sugars.

Family rave about my home made pizzas and feel really spoiled - I swear I have been working fingers to the bone!!!!:j

well I spend a lot of time on my pc also. This one is my own and I saved 2 years to afford the bits then built my own.I used to mind when my OH said I spent too long on it but now I say,"right,I should be sitting next to you watching UK history then should I?" When my 2 were little we didnt even have a TV let alone a pc and I still didnt get the housework done (I was too busy playing with the kids, going for walks etc..)lifes too short to spend it doing things you hate.
