Add 6 sockets( 2 rooms) and move a switch . Electrician quoted £600!
Is that about right or is he fobbing me?

That's ridiculous
How can anybody state this, but with the scant detail supplied by OP is such a reply any wonder?
Is chasing required, do ceilings have to come down, what making good is required, who re-decorates, how long are the runs, is it labour and materials, is it payment plus VAT, what testing is required, what about Part P of the Buildings Regulations, has an Application been made...to name some that spring to mind
Back to OP to decide on this one!0 -

You can't say that without knowing the work involved.
The room could be vary large and £600 could even be cheap given the amount of cable, lifting floorboards, tracking walls etc that would need to be done.
Or the OP might have asked for Gold fittings
£600 might be cheap, it might be expensive or it might be about right.
OP - if you think it is too expensive, get another 2 electricians to give quotes.0 -
House is being refurbished. So chasing for 3 socket, rest go in a new stud wall which hasn't been boarded yet. House has been tested (EICR) before 2 months. Ceilings open and floorboards already pulled.
No redecoration or patching required.[STRIKE]Deposit: 25000!!/15000[/STRIKE] Homeowner :j

so coming back to main question. Does the quote look about average? or low / above? (location- midlands)[STRIKE]Deposit: 25000!!/15000[/STRIKE] Homeowner :j

All I can say is that i was just quoted 3.5k for a complete rewire and new consumer unit on a 'lived in' small 3 bed semi, so I'd say that unless you live in a mansion that's expensive.0 -
Told you all. Ridiculous price whatever needs to be done .0

small 3 bed semi = 7 rooms?
Take off 500 for the CU, therefore 3000/7 x 2 rooms = ~£860
Sounds like the OP has got a bargain!0
