It seems Theresa May, Angela merkel and Gordon brown were all the children of clergy men. I'm sure there's a joke there about clerical celibacy being a good idea if you could be bothered thinking of one.

Maybe Boris was rewarded with a big job for stepping aside in the leadership race?

Funnily enough, the Turkish reaction I heard was "sod you, we never wanted to come to the UK." :) Turks aren't short of pride or history, either...

Well, they're getting some more history tonight.

Who'd like to hazard a guess on when turkey gets to join the EU? How about "never"? Does "never" sound about right?

I had a few Brexiters insist Turkey would be in the EU within the year.

With Erdogan in charge? Never. He seems to be intent on entrenching himself, persecuting his opponents and ignoring the Turkish courts.

My concerns about Turkey are a little more immediate, since I have a sister-in-law, niece and nephew out there. Hopefully things will quieten down enough for the kids to get back to school here in September.

Looks like he's still in charge. I'd hate to be one of the Rebels now.

My niece said something like "let me go back to NI, where the people are reasonable". Hopefully she will be back for her GCSE year in Sept.

    Those figures are from Q1.

Before the EU, the UK (and NI) was a very different place. Apples and oranges.
