Washing Machine Advice - Quick Standard Cycle

Hi, I am looking for a new washing machine.
My current machine takes about 3 hours for a 40 degree cotton wash. I know EU rules on energy efficiency mean this is now relatively standard. So I am looking for a machine when you can easily alter the times.
The below Bosch Machine has "Vario Technology" and can reduce wash cycles significantly
http://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/household-appliances/laundry/washing-machines/bosch-waq2836sgb-washing-machine-silver-10135087-pdt.html
Does anyone have this machine and can tell me how long a standard wash is?
Also does anyone have any other brand with this type of function (I think LG call it timesave) and how long is the cycles?

We have a bosch
Have started using the longer cycles they clean better.
also if you use the shorter cycle the loads are smaller like 1/2
will check the on-line manual for that machine and post later.....
the two main buttons you can see are
Speed perfect fast wash probably around 90mins
Eco perfect even slower but economy. 3hr+
back in a bit.0 -
My AEG automatically adjusts the cycle time as it washes and figures out the weight of washing. It'll threaten a 2 1/2 hr standard wash, but will normally bring it in at 1 1/2 hr. Using the time reduce options just reduces the spin cycle time, so cuts some minutes off, but means clothes take longer to dry.0

Our current Siemens (same company as Bosch) has a fast wash setting for most programmes - model has been updated, but WM14E462GB model looks similar
A 40 degree 1400 spin cotton wash using speedperfect takes an hour and we find no reason to use any other setting.
It also has a 20 minute quick wash cycle.0 -
manual here
http://www.bosch-home.co.uk/products/washers-dryers/washing-machines/front-loader/WAQ2836SGB.html#tab4
there are 2 files the smaller one has the loads/times
the faster cotton loads are only 4kg
the full eco mode washes are 4hrs.(they are getting longer)0 -
Should add that seems a tad expensive.
I did have a really good price watcher but cannot find it now.0 -

Its the silver one seems a lot dearer than the white one unfortunately (And I think the white would look very out of place in my house!)0 -
Found the price watcher I was thinking of I used it when waiting for a deal on a tumble dryer.

Look at the price history
you can filter on all the silver ones.0 -
We have a similar Bosch model. Basically if you just turn the machine on a normal 40c wash it will be around 2 hrs 30mins. If you push eco perfect it will use less water and electric and be around 3hrs 10mins. If you push speed perfect it will use more water and electric and will take about 1hr 5mins. I have used all these ways and find no difference in the quality of wash, everything still gets clean regardless. I have no real preference and tend to use all 3 depending on how quick I want the wash done. You can use all 3 settings on every temperature too. There is also a quick 15mins wash but I've never used it as can't imagine it could ever get anything clean in 15mis.0

Not up on current prices just remember the sweet spot when we were looking seemed to be around the £350-£400 mark for brand/feature/price balance.
we ended up the WAQ28461GB £429 and £50 cashback from Bosch.
Very similar but wanted the adjustable temp option.0
