As ever, please do a full market comparison based on your usage and your postcode.
This deal is not the cheapest deal for me, indeed I would lose money by swapping either to dual fuel or electricity only.
For dual fuel it is not even the cheapest option available.
For electricity only, listed as the cheapest but only by a few pounds a year, and still more expensive then my current tariff.0 -
22nd in the list for me for electric. (and no cashback offered via EHL)
16.35% more expensive than the cheapest electricity provider for me.
Edit: gas looks about 9.6% more expensive for me, compared to current cheapest available tariff.
Edit2: Just did a comparison based an typical average usages for someone living in East Midlands region.
Electricity is cheapest from GB (£352 compared to next cheapest, Avro at £368)
But avoid their dual fuel offering as you will be paying £370 for gas, compared to cheapest offering (Zog) at just £326 - over 10% more! :eek:0 -
I could save £6 per year on a £300 per year electricity spend. I agree that dual fuel isn't competitive because of GBEnergy's gas price. It would seem that we are seeing energy prices bottom out. I noticed that Premium petrol is 2.5p more expensive per litre today then it was a week ago.
Edit:
The true saving (compared to GB's Premium Energy Saver) is £2.71 not £6 according to GB's website. I am not sure why as the inflated savings methodology isn't a factor.
Edit 2:
MSE CEC and GB's website are showing the same standing charge for electricity but different unit prices: 9.9435p/kWh on GB's site compared to 9.849p/kWh on MSE CEC. It's not VAT.0 -

Yes I'm currently with Zog for gas and GB for my electric.
I only posted the link for information but where dual fuel tariffs used to be the cheapest option it doesn't seem to be the case any more0 -

And thank you for doing so.0 -
To me it is exactly the same price, electric only, as their previous offering. And the same for my daughter who uses double what I do.0

My regional electricity price per kWh for Topaz has now been reduced to the MSE CEC figure. A saving of £5.51 on Premium Saver Energy.0

Do you have to phone them to change tariffs? Currently in the process of switching to GB and this new tariff saves me £2.460

I have just used the online system to change to this new tariff, but when the welcome pack came it only showed the electricity supply and not the gas. Consequently it wasn't possible to check the MPAN reference as they were so keen for me to do, as the gas details weren't there. It seems to be an online glitch, but best to call them up and give them the MPAN rather than there be a last minute hitch on the gas supply changeover.Solar Suntellite 250 x16 4kW Afore 3600TL dual 2KW E 2KW W no shade, DN15 March 14

Just fill in the appropriate form (think I went to Customer Enquiry -> Other):
https://www.gbenergysupply.co.uk/contact
Is what I did when they launched Ruby. And they said they changed it in an email response. Though I haven't had another bill since as I only did it three weeks ago so I can't see whether it's changed or not.
Though of course there's no reason why you can't phone...
*have rang, apparently takes 15 days to change tariff. And I was on Ruby.*0
