Honda Jazz no spare tyre

It should still be basic safety equipment. I'd far rather have a spare than the fancy compressor unit, can of foam and all the electrical gizmos that the car is loaded with and that I don't want0

So buy an older car? You can hardly complain at a car having loads of 'gizmos' when it's your choice whether to buy that car or not!0 -
I have a Honda, but does not have a spare, but a can of something, (foam), plus a compressor thingy you plug in to put air into the tyre.
So far I've not needed either, but both the Honda dealer service depart, and my OH have taught me how to use both should I need to.
I was worried when I first got the car, now not so.Breast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100 / 100miles

I would not describe a spare wheel as a safety feature, and in a lot of peoples hands they can be down right dangerous.I have seen attempting to change wheels with heavy traffic whizzing past at close proximity, and recently came across someone an a busy A road with the car on a jack with 2 teenagers still sitting in the back.0 -
When I bought a brand new Honda after a bit of negotiation the dealer threw in a space saver spare and tool kit as part of the deal.0

I would.
I was a woman alone stuck in a back street in an area that the local driving schools avoid due to having things thrown at them! Fortunately for me it was during the morning. Had I had a spare wheel I could have changed it and been out of there in quarter of an hour. As it was I was stuck until help could get to me.0 -

I actually got a puncture on Friday. I couldn't stop where it happened so limped on to a safe place where I could leave it without being fined or towed away. Tyre of course is trashed.
MX-5s are really picky about their tyres so I needed a like for like replacement. Nowhere locally had one so it was a recovery job with the car off the road until the next day.
All because Mazda is penny pinching on a £20K car. I won't be buying another one.
To be fair, I'd rather have the roof in the boot than a spare tyre."If you think it's expensive to hire a professional to do the job, wait until you hire an amateur." -- Red Adair0 -

But Mazda probably took that decision to save an extra few Kgs in the name of fuel efficiency and performance. My MG ZR only had a spare wheel as an optional extra only.
But you knew that when you bought it.0 -

In that situation I would definitely not got out of my car.0 -

What if they threw stuff at you and stole your spare tyre as you was getting ready to change it? Instead you stayed safely in your car until help arrived and lived to tell the tale.
Seems like not having a spare tyre potentially saved your life.0
