Tuesday 24th May - What Small Debt Free Wannabe things will you do today?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.

Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important

    Morning :D
Thanks for the start Bob. I use Bounts - but didn't see the question about it the other day... It's basically a reward scheme for doing exercise. You hook your Fitbit or other tracker to it and then you get reward points if you do 7000 steps a day or if you check in at a gym etc. These are then exchanged for vouchers. I pay for the premium version (£15 a year I think) but the rewards far outweigh the cost for the amount of exercise and walking I do.
I'm tired this morning. But the sun is out and that's always a bonus.
    Here's today's list.
    :D check banking and PAD
    :D full day of teaching
:D mark a set of books
:D Apply for Friday off to go back to the hospital with dh
:D Make sure I do some crochet (I didn't yesterday)
:D make sure I do some exercise
:D try and catch up with work missed yesterday
    :D aim for nsd
    :D meals from stores
Think that's it - can't think of much at the moment... Have a good day all.

    Morning Tuesday People,
Well I didn't get nearly as much done yesterday as planned. Somethig I thought would be completed by 10.30 took me till after 1pm, then I had to be out for a meeting early evening. I had no energy either. Most unlike me! So today I want to achieve more:
*Laundry done overnight on cheapo tariff. Will peg out to dry & reload for another cheap wash tonight.
    *Make tomorrow's packed lunch.
    *Water veggie garden & ghouse.
*Move courgettes & squash outside a few hours to start hardening off.
    *Do other veggie garden maintenance.
*Plant out more summer bedding. Almost all free seed.
*Find a space for a tray of red lettuces to be planted out.
    *Feed garlic & broad beans.
*Finish craft project so sewing machine & stuff can be tidied away.
*Discussed camping food supplies with mr f.
*Do Body Shop order using discount code & my £10 voucher.
*Aim to do a couple of surveys.
Ok, that's plenty. I shall mostly be outside in the sunshine. Got to look after those future food supplies!
    Take care of yourselves today,
    F x
2026's challenges: 1) To rebuild our Emergency Fund to at least £5k.
    2) To read 50 books (12/50) 3) The Re-Shrinking of Foxgloves 8.1kg/30kg
Remember....if you have to put it on a credit card, extend your overdraft or take out a loan to buy whatever it is, you probably can't afford it, as that's not your money, it's somebody else's!

    Morning all,

I've been neglectful for the past week - went away with family for a long weekend then have been crazy busy at work. On the plus side - I got a promotion I've been working hard towards :D tiny increase in money (but hey, every £ helps!) and a lot more responsibility. Seems like I missed a lot of news - hugs to all xx

Today is a wfh home day so fuel saved
all meals from mealplan & stores
    reconcile YNAB
    reconcile filofax/calendar
budget bonus expenditure (I've spent it 100 times over in my head - need to get it down on paper what I will *actually* put it towards! - most likely car MOT/Tax/insurance as I only started my monthly saving for these 4 months ago)
2 x loads of laundry on the line already

Hope you all have a fab day, I've missed you all! x
    New total: £24,006 :(
    I will do this.

Thanks Cat I think she posted later one evening recently. Will make sure and mention it on the NST thread as I did tell her to pop over.

Foxgloves sorry to hear you have had low energy. You are right it doesn't sound like you.

HelleBelle congratulations on your promotion. It all helps
Princess sending all the coffee after your early start.
Determined good luck with your job hunting. Well I was up anyway and for once beat anyone else to it :)

Have DD wobbling about in the walker so better not be on here too long.
