BT Infinity retention deals

Just rang BT as currently paying £20 for infinity 1 plus calls.

Advised was looking for them to match skys deal of £10 a month for unlimited fibre but without calls. They wouldnt budge and said best they could do was £18!

Now looking at going probably to sky but wondered if others have met a stone wall when calling BT for a deal ?

If you weren't transferred then you weren't talking to the retentions people.

I did say I would move but you dont even need a mac code now so i guess to them it just feels like you might not?

    Thaions?t's better :)

What you say about the new transfer process is very true so how did you go about getting to retentions?

I'm with PlusNet and once my minimum term was up I just rang up and said that and asked directly what deals they could offer. At the time I'd found a deal for unlimited fibre from SSE (iirc) for £12.50 and they just price matched that. As I like the fixed IP I would probably have stuck with them anyway.

If you ask for a manager and/or mention ofcom because of your 'dissatisfaction' then you usually get special treatment also. Depends on the situation however it works with most companies. It's a numbers game for them and I assume their profit margins are large enough they can afford to stop you kicking off such a fuss!

Good deal though, thanks for sharing. :)
