    A lot of mixed opinion.

Worth mentioning as well that I asked Barclays myself yesterday evening about the pay date.

The response was "no comment" so I think they know that weekend payments are a bit broken so can't give any advice.

I wouldn't say they're "broken" as such, but I can understand Barclays sticking to the official line/not commenting to the contrary. You're officially due to be paid on Tuesday. If Barclays tell you the money will be in on Saturday and then, for some reason, it doesn't come through until Tuesday, would/could you hold Barclays accountable if you committed to spending the money on Saturday (perhaps you took your family/friends out to an expensive restaurant, assuming the money was already in your account)?

Thanks for posting back, does it show Tuesday's date?

Good to know, what the protocol is with last working day wage payments.

Lucky. Seeing this thread I kept an eye on my works online Dashboard and they had not even put the payslip details on by the time I left at 5 last night. I was not expecting, or needing, the money until Tuesday but I had hoped to see the payslip, especially as I had changed my work pattern, stopped a pension payment, as I am taking it and had a pay rise, back dated to April. So lots of changes this month and was curious to see it in writing, especially as I only work Wednesday - Friday. My bank will show it on Tuesday but I wanted to see the breakdown. Enjoy the Bank Holiday, don't spend it all.

If my payday lands on a weekend or bank holiday, I usually get the money the day before.
I guess it may vary across banks, perhaps even employers.

The OP's situation is different. They get paid on the last working day of the month, which in this case is Tuesday 31st May...a working day.

Possibly employers, but most definitely NOT "across banks"! Your employer decides when you get paid, not the bank. Your employer times their BACS Direct Credit run to ensure it hits your account on the last working day before the weekend/Bank Holiday, by starting the process 3 days earlier. So for a payment due to you on a Friday (or over the weekend) they'd submit the batch file to BACS on the preceding Wednesday.

    Ah, I see. My mistake.

Perhaps off-topic but I get paid earlier than my colleagues who are with different banks. Would that be due to the bank processing it faster or perhaps my employer is with the same bank?
