Transfer debt for someone else?

in Credit cards
I have purchased a car on a credit card (as I have a better credit rate and higher limit) and my husband is now going to take out a 0% fee free credit card and pay it off over the 24 months. So far so good, however I have kept my maiden name on this credit card so my question is Can he take out the credit card and transfer my debt onto his card?
Thank you
Thank you

What card do you have and what card is he looking to take out? I ask because a lot of providers won’t allow a balance transfer if the name on the card does not match the cardholder’s.I'm a Board Guide on the Credit Cards, Loans, Credit Files & Ratings boards. Thanks for replying.
The car has been purchased on Barclaycard and he is looking at taking out any of the 24/27 months 0% fee free which are Sainsbury's, PO and AA are also doing a similar deal. I suppose I could change it into my married name ? would that be easier? Same question0 -
Even if you changed to your married name it wouldn't make a difference, because it wouldn't be your husband's first name and surname.
I have done a transfer from a Lloyds credit card to Barclaycard, the Lloyds was in my partner's name and the Barclaycard was in mine - this was done over the phone and my partner had to confirm the card was his and I had to confirm I understood that I was taking on his debt. I have no experience with the Sainsbury's, PO or AA cards you mentioned and whether or not they accept balance transfers from other people's cards.
I know some people have mentioned previously a possible way around this is to use the card's online facility whereby you enter the card details for the balance transfer so you could try that.I'm a Board Guide on the Credit Cards, Loans, Credit Files & Ratings boards. doing it online is simpler.
My PO card had a higher percentage min payment than most other cards I have had - just for info if he has a choice of provider. I didn't find them that generous with their limit either.I’m a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Pensions, Annuities & Retirement Planning, Loans

Don't Get the AA card as they seem to have problems with balance transfer with other banks0
