Hi,
So last week I put in a PPI claim with Barclays bank on a personal loan and I think the loan was taken out in 1999 or 2000.
I completed the online claim form and this week I have received two sms messages. One saying they had received my claim the other saying they had now settled my claim and I would recieve details etc in 10 days.
This feels very quick to me but I guess it's a hot potato for them. I cancelled my current account at Barclays possibly three to four years ago.
Now the original loan above was paid off using another loan from the Halifax. This was a joint loan with a previous partner. When we split we parted the amount down the middle. I then later on increased the loan. I don't think the total amount borrowed was over 3k. This loan completed its term.
How easy is it to claim back from Halifax ?
I also have had a loan with BOS which completed its term which also had ppi on it. Again what is it like to claim from them ?
Any help or support is much appreciated as I am not the most confident in these things

This feels very quick to me but I guess it's a hot potato for them.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0

Guess I left it just right then. Are Halifax easy to claim with ?0

You're not claiming. You're making a complaint as to why you believe it was mis sold.
So the ease of the process is in direct correlation to the strength of your complaint.0 -
And they would usually need both signtures to complain and then unless there was evidence to the contrary, both parties would get half the redress if successful.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0

I had a claim pack sent to me from The Claim Guys and I was unsure if it was a genuine company I can't ever remember paying PPI although a lot of people say that its included with out you knowing What do you think is genuine or a scam ???0
-
The company don't know you had PPI, but they'll put a stamp on the envelope containing your "complaint" and charge you around a third of any redress you might win (plus VAT)!
The complaint process is simple and free, why pay a company?0 -

The claims guys cold called me and told me I could put in a claim against myself. This is because I am an IFA and do my own insurances. So, they wanted me to employ them to generate a letter containing my complaint to send to myself and then take x% of whatever I paid myself in redress (not that I would as I hadnt mis-sold myself). That just tells you how rubbish this company is.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. I was a little wary of it to be honest and it seemed strange that they knew where I had lived over the past 40 plus years. When the pack came through which I hadn't requested by the way as I had never heard of them one of the addresses had the right road but the wrong number another had the house right but the wrong floor (when we lived in a flat back in 1970 !!!.My DD said I should put it in the bin and forget it.but I don't like the thought that so much information is out there for anyone to get hold of,although I suppose the electoral roll is there for the searching. So its going the way of other junk mail and going in the bin I can't honestly think of any occasion when my OH and I paid PPI anyway as our only credit was our mortgage which was paid off 21 years ago0

Don't forget to put the pack in the re-cycle bin, perhaps then the paper will go to some proper use!0

Indeed its been shredded and deposited in the green bin0
