Vet Fees

I am on my 4th cat with HT and also live in London....and £480 does seem expensive to me. Full bloods sent to external labs can be expensive but I can't remember ever paying more than £150/200, and the specific test for HT is less than £40 if tested for on it's own. Obviously you need to factor in the cost of 1 or maybe two consultations and then the medication itself but I have never paid anywhere near that amount for the initial diagnosis.
I think you need to request a breakdown of the costs and possibly make a formal written complaint to the surgery to see if any portion of that cost can be adjusted.
remember that if you go to a new vet they will need to examine the cat and that will incur more costs.0 -

I went back for second time and the charge is the same for a further blood test and more medication I have not paid this part of the bill I have since found out that another local vet charges a third of the price for the same Is there anything I can do
I'm not being unsympathetic (7 animals myself) but I have to ask - given the cost the first time, why did you go back?0
