  • Yeah i know not everything's covered that was kinda my original point, i definitely think they should improve this, and i know it wouldn't come out of meadowhalls insurance it would come out of the stupid person that hit my car...
  • And i think it was another car that had hit me, but because there's no CCTV and no witnesses i have no idea. But i know nothing had been thrown at it because there is nothing inside the car, so it must have been another car

How do they improve it without putting hundreds of extra cameras up ?
Who is going to monitor the "feed" from these hundreds of cameras. Who will pay for the cameras & the operators ?
The reality is that incidents/accidents/crimes will occur but notwithstanding that Meadowhall is a very safe place to be, both as a motorist & a shopper.

You keep saying they are negligent, but what duty do you think they neglected?

The only thing they offered was a space to park your car. They didn't agree to look after it, or do patrols, or cover it with cctv, or to pursue anyone who damaged it.

In fact, there are signs all around specifically informing you that they they won't accept responsibility for any theft or damage, and that you park their at your own risk.

I'm interested to know how you think a car could crash into yours and only smash the back window? No dents on the bumper or other damage?

The reason I ask is because I would think that was criminal damage, not a car accident. IE done deliberately.

If you're worried about your premiums going up, just pay for it yourself and don't make a claim.

Wouldn't it be an odd shaped car that manages to smash the window but do no damage elsewhere?

This level of mindless vandalism looks odd, did you leave anything on show in the car on the seat or in the boot, laptop, shopping bags etc?

That would at least be a reason, if not it sounds odd unless other cars nearby were also damaged and it was literally someone going mad in a car park.

It's entirely possible somebody in another car has loaded something too long to fit in, so it's poking out of a window or the tailgate - and that's "poked" the glass.

Why didn't you have a camera/s in your car that records while you are parked, that would have caught the person who did it?. So using your logic you must have been negligent by not having a camera in your car. Also why didn't you hire someone to patrol near your car to keep an eye on it?. This is also very negligent of you!.

You got here before me, I was thinking exactly the same.

The op was negligent, not having their own-in car recording system or hiring security to sit in the car whilst it's parked.
