Travel insurance medical questions

I have been looking at travel insurance and a few insurers include the following question ...
has anyone been admitted to hospital overnight or treated as a day-patient in the last 12 months ?
.... does anyone know what is classed as a day-patient as there doesn't seem to be anything included in the definitions.
Would "day-patient" include a visit to A&E following an injury where the only treatment was antibiotics ?

Yes you would need to mention, IF this injury requiring antibiotics was reported to your GP for their records.
What you have to think about is a large foreign hospital bill being sent to you, because the Insurers find this undeclared information on your medical records.
If you mention it to Insurers when arranging cover by phone, they might not even charge you a higher premium, but it will get noted. At least then, you know you have full cover.
If you are concerned about what is on your medical records, you can request a copy through your GP surgery. The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.0 -
ok so I phoned the insurer and they said they do need to know about A&E injuries if any treatment was provided - nothing about it being on GP's records - but it doesn't add anything to the premium so good news.
