How can I stop birds pooing in our glass conservatory roof?

Hi all
We have a beautiful conservatory that has a huge glass roof. However, our TV Ariel is at the rear of the house (we don't have a chimney as the house is quite modern) and literally sticks out directly above the conservatory roof. Yes, you've guessed it...birds perched on the Ariel then use our conservatory roof as a toilet. From underneath it looks disgusting. So, somewhere in the back of my mind I seem to recall a tale/myth/old rumour that a pot/porcelain owl or similar will scare birds away. Is this actually true because it's a huge job to get up there (ladders are no good because the conservatory is in the way).?
So, I'm hoping you guys can give me a suggestion of how I can stop birds perching on our TV ARIEL.

Have the TV aerial moved (seriously).
We have starlings nesting in our soffits above our conservatory and whilst I don't mind them nesting, they also poo all over the conservatory roof.
Fortunately nesting season will be over soon and I can then just go and clean it all off,0 -
Put these on your aerial https://www.amazon.co.uk/Narrow-Plastic-Pigeon-Spikes-112mm/dp/B004EDZM2K/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1463908471&sr=8-4&keywords=narrow+pigeon+spikes
Worked on my aerial0 -
Wire the aerial in to the mains!0
-
Put a big ol' plastic long-eared owl on top of the aerial pole.0

I agree with move the aerial to another location. If no where outside is suitable, then you could always get it mounted in the loft?
The only sure fire way to stop them doing it is to remove the perch!0 -
If moving the aerial isn't feasible, could you install some sort of poo catcher under the aerial? I don't know if a product exists, but I'm sure you could make something.0

The owls don't work. I've seen birds sitting on those!0

The plastic spikes are the way to go.Get them fitted if you are in any way not confident or don't have a safe access to do so.0
