On the sticker it said galaxy tab 3, android, 8gb, wifi and the price.
i asked them to show me it turned on and it got to the screen where it said galaxy tab 3 and before it could power up it died as had no charge so couldnt test it anyway, i didnt know about rooting untill i typed into google about the slowness and weird apps that were on there and it said its a rooted device.0 -
Have you taken it back? and spoken to the manager? If you get no luck I would be writing a complaint to the head office.
The replies on here seem to be if you were buying from a private individual, then unfortunately there would be no comeback. However you have purchased from a shop. I would expect that shop to advise if the item they were selling was altered in any way.
I don't know about rooted devices but I believe everything from CC should be factory reset before selling. Can you factory reset a routed device?0 -
I don't understand why you don't just flash the firmware to a standard version of Android?. It will be a lot easier and quicker than returning it or making complaints.0

Because not everyone is able to / confidant enough to do that.
You clearly would be able to do this but the OP sounds like they can't. I am sure there are things the OP is good at that you would struggle with, everyone has their strengths and weaknesses and it is unfair to expect people to be able to preform something just because you would be able.0 -

I think that is a very negative opinion to have!. I didn't know how to flash the firmware on a device until I looked online for instructions on how to do it!. It's a bit rude to assume the OP is unable to follow instructions and learn how to do new things!.0 -

If the OP had been given the devise for free then I would agree why not learn and get it to work properly.
However they have paid money for it (a reasonable price if it came for CC) so no if they are not confident I don't see how/why they should be expected to learn something new and attempt it, when it could go wrong leaving them with no comeback with the shop at all.
If you purchased a t-shirt from a shop that was ripped at the seams would you be googling on how to use a sewing machine to fix it, learning something new in the process (assuming you couldn't do this already) or would you prefer to take it back to the shop to rectify?0 -

A broken T-Shirt is different situation because software if designed to be updated and changed during the normal use of the device. There is nothing wrong with having to learn something new and it may help them do things in the future.
This is a second hand tablet so if they take it back to the shop they are extremely unlikely to flash the firmware for them. So the best they can hope is to get a refund because they are unlikely to have another of the same tablet to replace it.
So I would rather learn how to flash firmware than have to take it back to the shop, get a refund then go to multiple other shops to try and find another tablet of the same spec and price.0 -
Once you get it sorted, it may be an idea to get one with a spell check function next time.0
