Changing phone contract account ownership

I have had my iPhone now for three years and my contact has finished. I pay for my phone myself however my dad set the account up so he is the account holder.
I want to change the account to my name however I do not have any contact with my 'dad' anymore and don't even know where he lives or his phone number. I have tried phoning EE twice about this only to be told 'there is nothing we can do'.
If that's the case, I was considering just not using my phone anymore and not paying any bills however that will affect my credit score and I am not willing to let that happen.
Please help
Rebecca

If the account is in your 'dad's' name, it won't affect your credit score at all. If EE have specifically told you there is nothing they can do, then it does definitely sound like it's in his name.0 -
Unless you're setup as 'third party access' then under the DPA (data protection act) they can't talk to you about the acc.
If you stop paying, as above, it won't affect you at all even if the payments come from your bank acc. But it will create a default in your dad's name. Which may or may not be something to consider...0 -
You are best getting 'dad' to call up to get the phone unlocked and get a PAC to cancel the his contractThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

Your only option is to stop paying and get your own contract. Unfortunately it means that you will have to be given a new number.
It might prompt your 'dad' to get in touch and you could then get your old number pac'd across0 -

Maybe you missed the '' round 'dad' and also the winkey face?0 -
