Well well well. The seat does go up and down. Who knew?? (clearly, not me!)

I have put it up to the highest point, which has helped a little bit.

Update -

This - https://www.amazon.co.uk/Autosafe-Seat-Belt-Height-Adjuster/dp/B001B9CQQA - is flipping brilliant. It took a bit of head scratching to get it in place (until we realised that the clip was on upside down!) but it is just genius.

I also found these - https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B007CM0M34/ref=cfb_at_prodpg - on Amazon, which I keep in my bag. Not needed to use them yet, as I've not been in a car other than my own, but they look promising.
