Fraudulent Account Opened in my name

HI everyone
I got a letter this morning and a PIN code for an account I have not opened - fraud! I have contacted the bank and they have stopped everything.
Is there a way to find out whether my details have been used to open any other accounts so I can ring that bank or service provider and alert them? Would that come up on an Experian Statutory report?
Thanks!
BlueJonny

You should obtain copies of your credit report from Experian, Equifax and Call Credit to get the complete picture as not all companies will use just 1 credit reference agency.
They will show any searches undertaken in your name/address. You might also want to register yourself with CIFAS protective register: https://www.cifas.org.uk/pr_for_individuals
It's a bit strange that someone would open a bank account in your name at your address - are you sure someone in your household didn't do it? Most scammers would usually change the address to one where they will have access to receiving the post.I'm a Board Guide on the Credit Cards, Loans, Credit Files & Ratings boards. Weirdly that's what I thought. but as the bank said I should have had the card delivered but it hasn't been. They suspect postal fraud, where someone at the sorting office is intercepting post but they did not get the PIN code or activation code.
So I need to get reports from all three companies? Is this the £2 statutory report?
Thanks

PINs are sent before cards, so the card will be yet to come.0

£2 statutory report will show all that is required.
Noddle.co.uk and clearscore.com can be used for free Callcredit and Equifax reports, but once initial report is generated those only update once per month.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

I have been away on business since the start of the week, and have only just opened my post. I see the letter and pin were received Monday 16th May.0

Hi Bluejonny
If you obtain a copy of your credit report it will show credit accounts in your name and also recent credit applications that have been made (through that credit reference agency).
Lenders send us monthly updates every 4-6 weeks so the accounts wouldn't show up straight away, but the searches will.
If you obtain a copy of your Experian report, we have a dedicated victims of fraud team who would be able to help you if you did find fraudulent activity on your report (it sounds like there may be). If you get a report from us once you've seen the information contact us and we'll be happy to help.
Our ID Fraud site contains lots of useful information.
You can order an Experian credit report here.
It may be worth getting a copy of your Equifax and CallCredit reports also to cover all corners.
Thanks

A relative of mine was a victim of this fraud as well and all cards/accounts (more than 1) were registered at her home address. She actually found out one day when she opened her external letterbox (one of those ones that are on the wall) and found a long pair of tweezer type things in the bottom and a letter from a bank. The fraudster had obviously been stealing the post from the letterbox every day whilst she was out!
She now has a new front door with a letterbox in it.0 -
My mother-in-law recently had two letters with PINs, two letters with the credit cards themselves and confirmations of massive transfers out of the credit card accounts all arrive in the same post.
We do not feel we have got to the bottom of what has been going on - please see my post of a few days ago called "Too easy to get a fraudulent card" for details.
We have now ordered a £2 Experian report and are awaiting the results.
Would the bank happen to be NatWest or RBS by any chance?0
