Advice on swapping phone & internet

  • Ok, so just to follow up on this. I have found another phone socket in the house, by accident.

There is a white wire running around the house, and since moving in never knew what it did. Turns out it connects the phone socket in the hallway to a socket hidden behind the TV. Using this I get a speed of 1.27 mb/s

OP, have you contacted Sky about your speed? Each time I've been with a new provider and had issues with my speed, I've had the "channels" changed for me at the exchange (or this is what they have told me) and this apparently improves the speed.
  • I have been in to the router settings and changed channels myself, sadly all the same speed.

Incoming speed has to be measured via Ethernet connection direct from the master socket .Only then can you say you have poor connection speed or not .
