Is my credit score of 761 ( experian score) good enough to apply and be accepted for a mortgage at a reasonable rate?????
Any help or info on this would be brilliant .
Thanks

Forget the score as it doesnt accurately reflect your credit status when applying for mortgages.
Get a copy of your statutory report from Experian, Equifax and Noddle and ask a broker to have a look at them.0 -
that score is utterly irrelevant
each lender applies its own criteria and your "score" with them is what matters, not what experian says you have0 -
Mine is low 600's but my broker focused more on the contents / history...0

If you have a few credit products (credit cards, car finance, etc) to show that you are a responsible borrower and no negatives (missed payments, defaults, CCJs, etc) then you're probably in a good position. Also make sure you're on the electoral register and that everything in the report is accurate.
If you do have any negatives on the credit report, you should talk to a broker to find out what impact they will have on any mortgage application. As others have said, ignore the score.Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks
On a rotating plate, with spikes like Flash Gordon
And you're Peter Duncan; I gave you fair warning0 -
Me and my partner decided it was time to buy our first home. I was totally nervous about applying for a mortgage, as after checking, i had a noddle score of 541 (1 out of 5)! Really low
However he has a really good credit score. This totally baffled me as have no real debt or missed payments- only a car on finance over the last 4 years and never missed a payment!
Despite my poor score we decided to go into Halifax and speak to a mortgage adviser anyway.
I was sure we wouldn't stand a chance after reading so many horror stories, about how hard it is to get a mortgage! However we walked out of halifax that day with an AIP!! I couldn't believe our luck!
2 weeks later we had an offer acceptedon a property, and then began our full mortgage application. Again i felt really nervous that they may change their mind, but a week later we received our mortgage offer in the post! Our mortgage adviser has been absolutely fantastic and helped us every step of the way as first time buyers! Everything else has been a complete breeze and we pick up our keys on the 18th June!
Don't let credit score's scare you away from buying your own home!0
