Morning Campers,
Busy day today, long list, some of it is money saving, other bits of it is just jobs, including some duties to do with my involvement on the local political scene. Need to crack on, but posting up here does help keep me motivated:
*Did as little ironing as I could reasonably get away with.....which was just some bedding & 2 garments this week :-)
*Make tomorrow's packed lunch.
*Planted out 6 cherry tomato plants - grown from free seed.
*Planted up 2 big tubs for outside the front door. Used plants I already had, plus some pansies/violas grown from free seed.
*Water veggie garden & greenhouse
*Pot up courgettes & squash into bigger pots, as they won't be going in the ground for another 2 or 3 weeks yet.
*Pick big bunch of sorrel. Am making a version of chickpea & spinach curry tonight. Am using kidney beans instead of chickpeas as that's what we had in, & sorrel works fine as spinach. It's a plant which keeps on giving. Already done 2 big picks of it for cream of sorrel soup, plus taken a few baby leaves to add to salads. It's regrown & there's plenty to cut for this curry. It dies down over winter then is one of the first edible things to reappear in our garden in early spring.
*Have done a few surveys & completed all Toluna's quick clicks. Onepoll has a survey for £1 today instead of the more usual 10-15p. I wasn't elligible, but others may be. Also a Toluna one for 6,000 points. I didn't have any of the medical afflictions they were looking for, which is a Good Thing, but I'd have liked the points.
*Two baths from one lot of hot water.
*Wrap 2 ebay sales when the auctions finish later today.
That will have to do, as I have quite a lot of other tasks I'd like to get out of the way too, today. Keep on keeping on, all of you!

Meant to say...in honour of #MendItMay if you want to repair just about anything consider buying some Sugru. (Link) You can repair anything from holey shoes to childrens' toys with it. The website is giving away 10% off codes just now too.

CCL - Good luck to your students. I was poor at science, except biology. I only took chemistry & physics to end of my 3rd year at secondary school. Can still remember sitting in my pre-GCE options 3rd year chemistry exam & thinking I wasn't destined to get a very high grade. Then I couldn't help noticing that a rather notorious lad sitting in the row of desks next to mine in the exam hall was blatantly COPYING MY ANSWERS!! I didn't tell on him ...........because I happened to know that he was actually sitting a physics paper at the time!!

OH has worn his work shoes out at the bottom and has a hole in them. Would it work in them? xDMP Started June 20160 -

I have used it to successfully repair boots. (Link) The stuff is like Play-doh, you put it in the hole and then leave it to cure for 24 hours. The silicon-like material dries to become a type of rubber, which is, of course, water-proof. Look on the website link for more information. As it is on the sole, though, it will wear-off in time. You might also consider buying a Stick-On Sole from eBay and using a portion of that on the boots or getting the boots repaired by Timpsons on the High Street.Timpsons used to have a service whereby they did tiny repairs for free. Might be worth asking them.

Slice them and then freeze them.Debt-free day: 8th May 2015 "Remember that sometimes not getting what you want is a wonderful stroke of luck," Dalai Llama0 -
Hi everyone
Just the usual from me today really...although I did buy a b00ts meal deal so that is not like me
I've just received a letter for the previous owners from a debt recovery agency (googled the return address) for a car parking fine...! That's so annoying as it means he has his car still registered at our address  I'm just going to put it in the post again as undelivered but wonder whether I should actually write to them with proof that I live here and not him...
Part of me thinks I should make an effort to get the letter to him rather than return to sender but then he will wonder why we've not sent him the rest (because we hate them after their house sale antics and I think they are tight for not setting up a mail redirection so am sending all their post back to sender in protest, rather than inconveniencing myself and giving to a neighbour for them to collect like they told us to in a rude note when we arrived. We did it for the first couple of weeks but I think it's a bit rich to expect it 8 months on. )0 -

make_the_change wrote: »Good Morning All,
Good luck CCL and big hugs to everyone else.
Went to bed at 9.45pm last night, much needed but struggled to get up this morning, kept snoozing the alarm! Kiddies started the day as they finished it yesterday, arguing and bickeringHad DS1 get upset at school regarding another child, that school is really starting to wind me up now. Maybe consider moving him?
- school run - done
- entertain DD and DS2 done
- surveys done
- nursery run with DD done
- pop into town to change DD's trainers as they are too big and print some paperwork at the library done
- school run and quick dinner before DS1 heads to football
- clean and hoover
- ironing
- dinner for me and OH, have taken BBQ chicken out the freezer and will have with rice and use up the salad
- early night
xx
Well I got everything done apart from the ironing and cleaning! DS1 had footy cancelled so we had dinner as a family which was nice. Meant no wastage with food!
I posted my letters today to start my self managed DMP. Wish me luck for nice replies!
Also, bought DS1 some more strawberries in Mr S. The selection was pretty poor, all looked bad quality so I thought I had picked a good pack. Opened them up and they were mushed, bruised and when I cut one there was a maggot  and only 4 were edible after close inspection! I didn't think to keep to return or take a photo, especially not of a maggot and then I thought 'no, this time I will make a complaint'. So I spoke to them on chat and explained and they gave me £5 onto my nectar card! Happy days!DMP Started June 20160
