O/S Daily Thread for Thursday 19th May 2016

This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” is fine

    Morning all
Today is my DD's birthday, I have a card for her but no gift as I hired a skip for her earlier in the month.
I didn't feel too good yesterday evening but fortunately it was raining so I didn't have to water my friends garden, I sat and crocheted instead.
    Have a good day everyone.
    Hugs Hester

    Morning Hester and all.

I'm awake too. Didn't sleep much...just worrying about the future. My future.

Must try and get some sleep. My Grandson will be here at 8.

    Onwards and forwards

    Have a great day all

    Good morning everyone :hello:

I've been awake for a while too as I got cramp again which got me out of bed like a shot and left me hobbling around cursing under my breath so as not to wake my lovely hubby. I had a raging thirst too so came downstairs for a drink.

I had a very challenging day yesterday as I went out twice. Once with my friend for lunch at Wetherspoons, I had the chicken and avocado salad which was lovely and then I had to take the girls up to their school for a fitting for their new uniforms. I felt very overwhelmed at the school as it was heaving with people and it was extremely hot and noisy. I did manage to stay throughout the process and the girls are sorted now. I am supposed to go out again today with my CMHT lady but I am going to cancel that as I need to recover.

I didn't manage to make the lasagne yesterday as I was too busy so that is the plan for today. I also plan on catching up on some sleep as I feel absolutely shattered.

Hope you all have a great day whatever you are up to, take care xx

    Morning everyone.

Well done Dumpling, you are doing so well with the going out.

Judi - sorry to hear you're troubled and hope you come to a solution soon.

White cloud and damp outside. How it will pan out is anyone's guess.

My plan for today is to clear out the corner where the logs are as the cupboard behind it is being removed sometime. The prep for it being removed is to have the big immersion heater in it being taken out next week.

    Happy Thursday everyone.

Well done on your outings dumpling, the girls must be over the moon that you managed to get to their uniform fitting. If you stayed the same at the weigh in it means you didn't put anything on!

Happy birthday to your DD HH, a skip would be my ideal present too!

Visited a friend for her birthday yesterday and her little grandson was there (the one who visited me at the weekend) and I am his new best friend! He went for a walk with his Grumpa and picked me some lovely bluebells, totally ignored the friends there so I played trains with him.

No watering of the garden to do as it has rained quite a lot but feels fairly mild. Had phone calls with DD and DS2 so all well with the world.

Hope all's well in your world, good to hear from you hilstep. Have a lovely holiday LW. Take care. XX

Morning all. A dismal start here but at least it's fine! Had a lovely day out with my friend yesterday with no rain at all. A nice wander of the market and charity shops (only one of those jumping books ended up in my bag!) and a nice lunch to round it off.

Just the youngest DGD up as yet, watching animated Mr Bean beside me. The middle one will be to waken up shortly. After school all three are here for tea/sleepover/school run tomorrow. Tea yet to be decided but they are always "starving" after their swimming/diving clubs.

Well done DUMPLING. You are well on your way to conquering your fears now. JUDI hope you find a solution to your worries. Have a nice day all (((HUGS))) where wanted/needed. xx

Well done Dumpling , Judi, I hope you are ok.

I slept well and feel human today, though had some weird dreams, not nightmares this time.

Work beckons and I must hurry up.

    Morning all,

Happy Birthday to your DD HH xx
Judi - sorry to hear you have been worrying xx
Dumpling - very well done on the maintain xx

Glad to see no rain this morning. It was persistent yesterday and finished with the loudest clap of thunder and streak of lightening right over our road last night. I was at youth club and thought a bomb had gone off outside, it was that loud :(

DS2 walked the dog for me yesterday afternoon and took a slightly longer route to avoid a group of older kids, bless him. Will either go out on his bike later or do day 2 of the 0-5k run, then he's off to scouts with DH. Just depends how the dinner is going.

Will be cooking spaghetti bolognaise tonight - DHs fave/DDs least fave - so will get the mince out shortly. Need to pick up some mushrooms in town today, along with some bits from H&B to take to Cyprus for my DSMum. Horrified to see the news that a plane to Egypt has gone off the radar this morning. This does nothing for my pre-holiday flying jitters :(

Job 2 today at the charity, but gym first to blow away the cobwebs. Will put a wash on when I get home and run the vacuum round.

Hope you all have a good day

    Morning all,

Nice bright day here but looks little breezy, off to work for me and dd coming with me which is great as I can get on with a bit more paperwork which seems to multiply in this new job !

Something and chips for dinner not sure what yet I will go and have a look after this, I think there is some fish in there which we can have with peas.

Need to wash some work t-shirts tonight and get them dried for tomorrow, the shopping is being delivered too.

Evie is a complete ball of fluff this morning, OH and her were caught out in the heavy rain last night so I wrapped her in a towel when she got back, this morning she is just 'fluffy' her hair is like a teddy's fir anyway but is extra fluffy this morning :rotfl:

LW have a great holiday xx

    Have good days all xx
