Android Pay live in UK

Android Pay is now live in the UK. I bank with TSB and can't find anything about its support - anyone have any info?

Try to add a debit/credit card via the app & it will tell you if it's supported.

One of my debit cards was and the other wasn't. The latter provided a link to the supported cards which didn't include any bank or directly issued Amex.

I've tried that. The TSB Twitter feed is awash with disgruntled customers, some threatening to move to a bank which supports Android Pay. They're just giving canned responses about how TSB supports the latest technology . . .

I'll be curious if/when Asda Money supports it. Then I might move to that in place of Barclaycard Cashback seeing as Barclays are determined to drag their heels.

Works great with First Direct though, tried earlier.

I'm old fashioned and only use cash, I'd be over drawn in no time using an app/card to pay for things.

I've got an apple phone, never shown an interest in Apple Pay, I'm assuming android pay works kinda same way.

So how does it work then? Do you scan a picture on your screen which then takes money from your bank?

I just got an email from MBNA about it, all I need now is a smartphone.

Edit: And a shop that will take it!

I am trying to add Nationwide Select credit card to no avail. It says the card is not supported...

Edit: I know why, Nationwide only supports debit cards!

I've tried adding my Halifax Clarify card. I'm told to call a number for verification. When I call the number I'm asked which card brand I'm using, then for my card number.

I've no doubt it's genuine, but it does seem to fly against the usual advice to keep card details secure.
