Hi,
I've posted this already on the motoring board but in case:
I have a 1.4 ford focus (old style) at the moment and its on its last legs. I need recommendations for a new car. I have £5k to spend on one.
Faults with my focus:
Cramped in back with the kids car seats (2)
Boot on occasion hasn't been big enough
its a 3 door
I'm not interested in having a million buttons to push to put the radio etc on. I just want to get from A>B comfortably. It'll mostly be used for commuting to work - Kids only in it at weekend and when we go on holiday
So - what car do you have / recommend?

With a 5K budget you should be able to get a Citroen C4 Picasso, e.g. something like this:

It has 3 full-sized seats in the back, a decent boot size and decent economy.0 -
I used to have a ford focus c-max. Very similar to drive as the standard focus, just a lot more room, a big boot and 5 full doors. I really liked mine, but decided to get a 7 seater once my 3 kids got too big. Now it's time to trade up again, I'm going back to having a Ford. I'm going for a focus grand c-max, which is also 7 seats. I really like the reliability and affordability of Fords.
If you're wanting a newer car, the c-max might be a bit out of your budget. But you can get about an 06-08 plate for around £5k.0 -
We have just bought Toyota Corrolla Verso. It s a seven seater and has loads of room and is well within your budget.0
