Metro Bank card fees outside Europe to rise

For those still considering a Metro Bank card, who will not have received the email:

All transactions within Europe will remain free and we will continue to offer the best overall deal on the high street for using a card abroad.

The charges for using a debit or credit card outside of the UK will be as follows:


In Europe

Card Purchases and Cash Withdrawals Current - FREE
From 25 July - FREE

Outside Europe

Card Purchases
Current - 1.9%
From 25 July - 2.5%

Cash Withdrawals
Current - 1.9% + £1.00
From 25 July - 2.5% + £1.50

Thanks, have't received an email from them yet about this. I'd prefer they did this rather than start charging in Europe, I don't use it outside Europe anyway except in an emergency (selfish attitude I know, but there you go...)
