Can you use adoptable storage with a Moto G using Android version 6.0?

I have a 2nd Generation Moto G that is showing Android version 6.0 in the 'about phone' section.

Have I missed something because this http://www.pocket-lint.com/news/135716-how-to-use-adoptable-storage-on-android-6-0-marshmallow shows you how to do it but when I go to Storage and USB it will not let me format as internal!

think you have to insert a new one that's not been in the phone before

When you put a SD card in the phone for the first time you have to format and delete the card, it prompts you to do this

Only some Apps will be moveable to the SD card, not all as Android 6 marshmallow claim.

Instal app manager to move some apps

Thanks for the replies. I took the SD card out and erased it.

It's now showing Portable storage: SanDisk SD card 1.09MB used of 28.96GB but it will not let me format as internal.

I have just sorted it many thanks!

Thanks for asking this question I also have this phone and was baffled how to transfer to SD.

No problem. OH has a Moto G and is a bit upset that she has not got the upgrade to Marshmallow yet.

I was a little underwhelmed that I was only able to move 7 apps out of 157 but every little helps when you only have 8GB of internal storage and the os and non movable apps take up about 7GB.
