Sky holding me to ransom - appalling company

I'm more than happy to do that. It's just that it's taken them 6 days to tell me that's necessary and will take another two weeks. It also sits very uncomfortably.0

The line that is there is paid for by the previous tenant, it belongs to them, you are not allowed to steal it.
If you want a line now, then have a new one installed.
...And the problem might be that the previous tenant skipped out owing Sky £100s if they had negotiated a minimum term deal and left within the contracted time ...you can see that Sky in those circumstances wouldn't be keen to give up control over the line since they have no proof that you aren't really the same person:)0 -

So, for next time, what's the best course of action for someone in my position?0 -

Place an address-based order, not a telephone number based order. Many ISPs have the option 'I don't have a telephone number' when placing an order online. If speaking on the phone be clear that you are moving in to the property and don't have an existing service at that property.0
