The estate agent told me the property I seen has an unmetered water supply I have just found out its actually metred I have the email confirming what thu told me.
What options do I have?

The estate agent wont know anything of any reliable value, thats what your own enquiries are designed for
Regards the water, you might find being on a meter is preferable but in any event there is nothing you can do about it because if someone chooses a meter to be installed only they and no successor to the property can ask to be put back on rates (even then i think there is a time limit)Never, under any circumstances, take a sleeping pill and a laxative on the same night.0 -

You've seen the property but don't say why. Are you looking to rent it or buy it?

doesn't the property information form have a section where the water meter location is specified?
edit: I 've assumed you 've already bought the place, hence the complaint. But actually the post is vague, to the point of making informative input impossible.0 -
As soon as we moved into our new house and changed the name on the water supply we were made to have a meter installed anyway. So regardless of whether the property was metered to begin with you probably would end up with a meter anyway.0

I'm assuming you mean you've bought the house, rather than rented it.
You cannot rely on any information that the EA and seller give you directly. You can only relay on pre-contract enquiries made by your solicitor.
So you can rely on the Seller's Property Information Form, which probably has a question about a water meter. You can check what the seller says there.
If the seller has given incorrect information on that form, you would have to think about what losses you have suffered as a result of that incorrect information. (If the water co would have fitted a meter anyway, you probably wouldn't have suffered any loss.)0 -
If you've bought the house you can either make a complaint to the estate agent and then take it to the property ombudsman.
Or you can hire a solicitor and attempt to sue them. I don't think you'll have much luck

The water companies usually install a meter when the house changes hands. So if you bought the house without a meter as soon as you moved in you would get one. So what the estate agent did or did not say will be unlikely to make any difference to the outcome that as soon as you own the house you will get a water meter.0

There is a general drive to roll out water meters all over the UK, with areas in high water demand areas (i.e. the entire south-east of England) being targeted first. We are still on rates but expect to be forced onto a meter in the next few years. For us rates are cheaper because our house has been extended twice but the rates are based on the house's size in 1992.0
