Monday 16th May - what small DFW things will you do today?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important :money:

Morning Clootiesmum and all who come along later
Hope your spreadsheet wasn't preying on your mind all weekend - I used to be dreadful for that, though thankfully for everyone, my job didn't involve spreadsheets
Lovely and sunny again this morning
Dog got me up bright and early as usual
Today's list is as follows:
Pay milk bill which arrived this morning. Email them and ask for the bill to be sent by email instead
HM meals from stores, need a couple of ingredients for the meal I want to make today, but only little bits, won't cost the earth
Post 2 ebay sales (I miscalculated, or rather ebay's automatic listing thing did, and I forgot to check, postage on these, which is a bit of a pain, but onwards and upwards!).
Print out postage labels, which will mean fiddling with the printer first  An added complication is that the printer for some reason makes the pup bark manically, so I have to try to do it when he is out (and yes, I know that sounds completely bonkers
)
List more bits on ebay, being very careful on the postage!
Go to sales unit to tidy /have a change around in the hope of selling something!
Check for surveys, check FPL
Check banks
See if anything needs watering in the garden later on
Cleaning, tidying, decluttering - not sure where / what yet, but there is plenty to choose from
OK, another cup of coffee and better get on with it! Hope everyone has a good day

Morning Campers,
Sitting under the pear tree with a big mug of coffee. Money saving things done so far:
*Cheap overnight laundry pegged out for free line drying.
*Rubber chicken. It's done 2 days of dinners already. Have frozen slices in gravy for a free roast dinner & also have sufficient for stew. Carcass in slow cooker for stock.
*3 summer containers planted up for front drive. Mixed compost with our own home-made for economy & used overwintered pelargoniums & french marigolds grown from free seed.
*Sown more basil seed. First lot succumbed to damping-off lergy.
*Watered veggie garden & greenhouse.
*NSD
Still to do:
*Pick salad leaves & radishes.
*Make coleslaw.
*Make pizza. No yeast as forgot to buy, so am going to try a soda bread base. Can't see why that wouldn't work.
*Make tomorrow's packed lunch.
*Make a list of things I'd like to achieve this week.
Have to go to a meeting tonight so am keeping today's plans real.
Cheers all,

Hi All,
Its Monday again
DS2 has been a grump all weekend and spent last night crying and unsettled, those poor teeth are causing him so much pain.
- nursery run with DD done
- check bank and update figures
- chicken fajitas for dinner, my sister is coming along too
- get school uniform and other necessities ready for tomorrow so I am organised
Pretty rubbish list for me today.... will add more later! xDMP Started June 20160 -
Hi Everyone,
Today I updated my YNAB after the weekend and took my homemade sandwiches in to work for lunch.
Looking forward to payday next Friday!October 2015 = -13242.16 DFD 28/10/2016 £0 :T0 -
I see Martins tip on the BT price increases so have just managed to leave them and go back to Sky for a brilliant deal! :jDMP Started June 20160

Hi guys
Thanks for the kick off Clooties Mum
MTC - sounds good about your switch to Sky :T
Big hellos to everyone else.
I'm working from home this afternoon so thought I'd have a quick post while I'm still on my lunch break (yes, it's 3.30 so not your traditional 'lunchtime').
Me and OH had brekkie at home :A
Packed lunch - leftover chicken salad wraps and crisps
Challenge is to find something for tomorrow...
Need to YNAB
Transfer £££ from paypal to a/c
Picking up OH later - saves tram fare
I took the first step in getting my time back - gave up the voluntary work I've been doing for the past 6 years and cancelled tonight's yoga - only had 1 booking so I would've had to pay to keep the class going. Going to quit while I'm ahead and build up my other classes first before taking on anyone else's.
Big love everyone :beer:0 -
Good afternoon

Didn't get time to get on this morning to check in before work. I'm struggling a bit with time and feeling tired quite a lot so by the time morning arrives, even though it's light and sunny, I still don't feel like getting out of bed. It's also not great for being frugal.
So, today so far I have:
 checked banking and PAD
 full day of teaching
 work done after school
 took lunch to work
And still to come:
 take 2 cats to vet (prepaid)
 crochet
 an early night (I hope)
I have to work on getting some sort of balance back in my life...Not giving up
Working hard to pay off my debt
Time to take back control
