Jackie have you seen that ITV are not making a third series of Home Fires. People are up in arms over it. How can they leave a series with so many unanswered questions?

Indeed its a shame as its such a good series and very well played by the actors.

Mrs LW, so glad you are ok, that could have been such a nasty accident. Can't believe folk don't stop when they have caused an accident but then they would have to pay wouldn't they. Worrying about whether the people were hurt would make me stop.

It's a lovely day here but not as warm as we have got used to. I think rain is due tomorrow but we have had a good run. I even had to get the car washed today as it was so dusty.

The chimney sweep is here - the amount of soot is unbelievable, he says it is mainly due to the long, damp winter we have had. Still, it's all dry dusty stuff with no tar so that means the wood has been nice and dry.

I think that the end was obviously written to allow a third series if commissioned after filming, but I also felt it was almost a bit "Emmerdale" with the crashed fighter plane. I know these things happened during WW2 but it would have been nice to have a few more loose ends tied up rather than the disaster ending.
