This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” is fine
Morning everyone
Birthday wishes to those celebrating a birthday, hope you have a great day x
Hugs and get well wishes to those that want/need them x
Now light, cloudy but dry underfoot, I’ll put washing on the line shortly.
DH up and gone to work stupid early, DS1 now getting ready for work, DS2 still in his pit, but will wake him shortly to get ready for school.
Dinner tonight is scampi, chips, beans/peas for the menfolk. I have a portion of plain fish which I’ll have with jacket potato and veg.
Lunch yesterday was roast chicken and pork, roasties, mash, cauli/broc cheese, carrots, peas, stuffing, Yorkshires and gravy – all taken, prepped and cooked at grandad’s house. It went ok, bearing in mind I was cooking using a cooker I’ve never cooked on before and some of my cookware/bakeware I’d taken to use didn’t fit in his oven, so I needed to swap things about a bit. He seem to really enjoy us being there and ate a really good plateful of lunch, I also made up another plate that’s in his fridge. He said it was 200% and when were we going again – I understand that to be it was ok and I can go and cook for him again! He talked loads about our deceased person and we let him say/do what he needed, his dining room table was absolutely full of cards he’s been sent and the official notice didn’t go in the newspaper until Friday, so the cards he’d got were just from word of mouth, we’re thinking there will be 100+ at the funeral, there’s official things to do today, I’ll ring him tonight to check he’s ok and that thing’s went ok today – not sure if MIL and FIL are involved today but if they are hope they can just be civil and adult and just get done what needs to be done. Grandad was intending on speaking to a venue not far from the Crem about having the wake there, hope they can oblige as it’s a nice place.
Back to work today for me, we’ll see if it’s a manic Monday. Hoping for a busy day.
Keep safe and well x

            Morning everyone.
 Thanks for the thread nmlc.
It's a bit grey here this morning though at least there's not any rain.
Yesterday I did bits and pieces in the garden in between reading. I planted two borage plants and sprayed the black currant bush. Then I did some grass repair of patches where it's died and had a go at more scarifying (which I really enjoy). The little barn got a clearing out too and now the car is packed with cardboard boxes and garden junk ready for the tip.
Today will be a NSD, there's plenty in the fridge and freezer. Yogurt and berries for breakfast with some quiche and salad for later. I've got to plan things for next week when I'll be away Monday - Saturday and the builder will be here to remove an unwanted immersion heater and cupboard. It's better done with the house empty.
 I hope everyone has a happy Monday.0

Good morning, sunny here, for now.
I am not officially working but have to be at a meeting in the afternoon, just an informal one, it has to be today as having it later would have a knock-on effect. But that's all I need to do.
Last night's birthday dinner for son was roast chicken, roasties, roast parsnips, hm stuffing and veg, followed by blondies which are lovely but rich. Lots of those left but not sure if they will last the day as they are bound to fall prey to accidental nibbling.
Must do some ironing, yuckI was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0

            Morning All
The good weather continued and there were no clouds at all yesterday! I got the fence painted, emptied the shed, moved it to paint behind it and put it back, cleared out a lot of pots and general rubbish too. Strimmed the edges of grass and planted up some hanging baskets for school - they are in the car ready to go back today.
Went for a bit of shopping then met the friends/neighbours for a chat. We decided to have tea in the garden so all pooled our resources and had a lovely salad/cold meat/cheese tea here, the children played and some gin was taken as a refreshment! A lovely Sunday.
Back to work today and the chimney sweep is coming later to see to the stove, I've had it a year now so will be good to have it clean ready for the winter to come.
Hope you all had a good weekend, hugs to those in need. Take care. XX0

            Morning all
The usual flying visit from me, hubby has a cuppa he's still off resting his wrist/thumb and the fish have been fed.
My car is loaded to the gunnels with bags and boxes for the CS, paid for sewing to be returned, books to post off and 25 jars of home made marmalade etc.
I've had a steady drip drip drip of money in via paypal and people coming to collect stuff from gumtree, only about £25 but it all helps.
 Have a good day everyone.
 Hugs HesterChin up, Titus out.0

Beautiful day here. Hope it lasts. Got passed a newspaper cutting via Facebook last night. Someone is trying to research my Father's side of the family. Strange. I emailed him anyway to ask why he was researching.
 Onwards and forwards

            Morning all,
Looks to be another nice bright day here again Im off to work the weekend seemed to go in a flash !
DD and I went shopping yesterday and I got a few nice tops for summer, a couple of linen ones which were reduced and are lovely ! dd got a few things for work too, she has finished placement now but will be working for them for a while until she finds her long term job.
Not sure about dinner tonight I need to go and look in the freezer after this, I think there is some mince in there somewhere.
I need to do an online shop tonight and put a wash on too.
 Have good days all xx0

Morning all and another glorious start here, with wall to wall blue sky. The last couple of evenings have been really chilly though and we have had to resort to the fire.
The ground is starting to feel really dry and I think I might give everywhere a good hosing today. It's too nice a day to be indoors so some pottering outside is on the cards I think. Later, if the sun keeps shining, may just sit outside with a book.
Mr TA is off for a haircut later. It doesn't really need much off but, as the next two weeks are spoken for, first with our coach trip followed by Liverpool for his treatment, he has decided to go today to be tidy for both!
No leftovers from yesterday to eat up (apart from a few Jerseys) so will have a delve in the freezer shortly and see what I come up with for today's meals.
Glad you had a nice day with grandad NMLC. He sounds a nice man. Hope the in laws can be civil today for everyone's sake. (((HUGS))) to all else wanting/needing them. Have a good day and take care all xxx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0

            Morning everyone,
Firstly Gers thank you so much for your advice yesterday, done a bit of research and it seems that photo bucket have had a problem with the latest update for the IPad so suspect that's why I can't put my pics on If anyone would be kind enough to PM me with their email address am more than happy to send the pics over for them to put up but appreciate that people might be wary re privacy etc. If anyone would be kind enough to PM me with their email address am more than happy to send the pics over for them to put up but appreciate that people might be wary re privacy etc.
Had lovely day yesterday, had a potter round the shops and found a lovely suitcase for niece, greatly reduced. Also treated myself to new top for the tea party she is having next Sunday, very pretty and girly so not like me at all :rotfl:
Then caught up in all three new episodes of Game of Thrones, ooohhh
Took Bill for little walk down the lane and he was impeccably behaved but very jolly to be out, think it's time to get the vet out to see him again for an update.
Work today but hopefully will go quickly, just me for tea tonight so am think of making the chickpea falafel off Frugal Queens blog, they look delicious but quick.
Have a good day all, take care folks x0

            Morning all,
Thanks for starting us off nmlc.
Bright and sunny here this morning so the camp washing will be pegged out shortly. DD and DS2 have just left for the school bus. DS2 looks shattered as he was kayaking all weekend and he was angling for a day off school. Unlucky my friend!
DH and DS1 still in bed so I'm enjoying the quiet
I'm at the church this morning doing bits and bobs - Sunday service sheet, taking delivery of office supplies plus a large fridge for the nursery school. Then picking up an order from Nxxt of some trousers which I hope will be suitable for DS2 for the wedding. The outfit I bought him yesterday doesn't fit - it's age 14 and he is 12. He is very tubby and it's getting to the stage where I'm having to be really strict as its not healthy. Everyone keeps saying he will suddenly shoot up and it will all go, but I'm not so sure
SW tonight and I've put on due to the afternoon tea and generally being naughty this week. Diet cola chicken for tea tonight for the whole family, yum yum.
Hope you all have a lovely day.
