  • Indeed. I have been trying to go on their website for the past couple of weeks (to check on the 200Mbps prices) but it's always been down.
Let's hope Maplin drops the prices on all their Homeplugs - I don't think many people know about their existance.

Been using these for months for laptop and wii.
Strange choice for the Wii, seeing as it's got built-in wifi (supporting WPA security) and no built-in ethernet. Get a wifi access point and your laptop can be truly portable, too.

I have one Vesenet(3 port), one Solwise(single port) and 2 eConnect(single port) adapters, all 85Mbps.
I paid about £23.49 incl p&p each for the single port adapters from ShopMagenta in March this year.

The main reasons why I moved from Wifi are for security and speed.

Do they support encryption so that your neighbour on the same phase can't eavesdrop?

Yes, you can setup an encrypted password for your network(s).

I had to get an ethernet adapter for my Wii. It's about £8
  • From the manual:

Normally the electric meter forms a physical barrier, i.e. only devices connected to this meter
can be part of the network and benefit from the phase coupling. We strongly recommend that
you use the HomePlug Ethernet Adaptor internal device encryption.
