You seem to have little knowledge of the task in hand , I would pay for someone that can carry out the work for you.

OK , don't try to do the back garden and the front at the same time. In fact find the smallest small area and do that first to see what the problems are. Something complicated, like that Tegula circle you posted, is definitely not where to begin!

This is the wrong place to seek detailed instructions. For example, there's probably hundreds of entries on Google on the subject of "laying block paving."

Why would anyone in their right mind duplicate that for you here?

Be prepared for hard work it might pay you to hire small digger to break up concrete and you will need to hire skip to remove. Otherwise use hand tools retain stone in another part of garden. Earth will need to be rotovated and either seeded on turfed.

The advice I gave you was in my view spot on , You are talking about a total landscape project .
Given the fact you didn't even know what to do with the (stone)which from the picture looked like crazy paving and a concrete slab tells me that you are taking on a project that you have no skill or experience in.

You wouldn't set about fitting a new gas boiler or rewiring the house would you ?

The shed looks like it sits on a large slab , The patio could involve a gully and drainage or maybe a gas pipe !

I am not being rude but from your post I picked up on many things that tells me you would be better in the long term paying for the work to be done.

You could maybe reduce the cost by doing some of the work yourself like filling the skips and cutting down the shrubs ( one looks like bamboo ? which would need to be dug out or you will end up with bamboo lawn !

  • I'm doing a bit of home DIY as well. Random question, the dividing piece of metal or wood at the door between rooms, what is that called?

If you are determined to do it yourself, follow Dave's advice.

    Yes if you can

Yes, if they can get it off-road, no more complicated than that. If they can't and you need to make space, something like a Hippobag might be an option first.

You would do the back before the front, because you'll need a lot of space out front for skip, materials etc.
