Hi all,
Just got back from work to find a parcel from Aria - so far so good.
I open it up and it's a graphics card.....but the wrong one!
I clearly ordered a PCI card as my Dell Dimension 3000 only has PCI slots.
They sent me an 8 X AGP card - there are no slots for this on the motherboard!
I want to return the card and get a refund - and I will order the right one from elsewhere.
My question is - how good are Aria with refunds? This is the first time I've ordered from them and I've heard they are very very awkward when it comes to after sales.
And do I have to pay for the return delivery?
Any ideas on what to do next?
Thanks!
L
P.S I ordered a Club 3 Radeon card. How does this differ from a Sapphire Radeon card? I'm not very au fait with graphics cards and don't understand how two companies can make a product with the same name - or is it the same reason as how different PC manufacturers use Intel as a base technology for their mahcines?

If you've just received it you have 7 days to return it for a full refund, even if it were the right one, under the Distance Selling Regulations, so they can't argue the toss.

i think ukB means the card in your pc is an agp one.0 -
Not sure how ukB and Wildheart figured that one out, based on the info posted.
Just checked the specs for the 3000 and it's integrated mobo graphics with 3 pci slots. No agp slot (but the op already knows that).

Nope there is no AGP graphics card in my Dell Dimension 300 at the moment - and there is no AGP slot etc
Only PCI as far as I can tell ....

If they've mis-supplied (and looking at their website the one I imagine you've bought is definitely shown as PCI) then they should refund the return postage AND supply the right item.0

They are terrible. Took them 2 months to action my refund after they sent an unsuitable item. Only after many emails, letters and such. Wasn't until I threatened to complain to the MD and trading standard that they pulled their finger out. Until then they kept fogging me off saying the item was tested fine and call to get it delivered at my expense.
They lost a customer's life-times worth of sales over a £30 refund.0 -
The sound of trading standards usualy gets things moving. A great tool for the consumer.0

OK as I was at work my dad called Aria on my behalf and asked them about getting a refund.
They apprently said that their refund systems had crashed and that they could not check the details of my order and that I would need to go online and get hold of some details from there.
I've been to their site just now and can't find any details on how to go about getting a refund....doesn't bode well given Teak's and other peoples stories of Aria...
Any ideas on how best to get a refund from them??
I can't call them myself as I'm always at work when they are open - otherwise I'd know what to say to them.
Thanks for your replies so far.
