Looking for payg mobile but i need the function that tells you when text messages have been received/read...any suggestions???

Dont they all show a symbol when a text message is received?

I mean a reciept when the person you are texting reads the message - just because it has been sent doesn't mean it has been received or read - similar to an email receipt i suppose.

It's only possible to get 'Delivery Reports' that confirm the text message has been delivered to the handset but there is no way of telling it has been read.

Correct... also some networks don't support the 'Delivery Reports' function, I believe O2 and Vodafone are two that don't.

I am a vodafone customer (have been for years) and can confirm that Vodafone DOES support delivery reports.

As far as I am aware 02 do not support delivery reports however if you start your txt message with *0# and then a space you will get a report for that message

I believe the rest of the networks support delivery reports too so pretty much any mobile should allow you to get delivery reports these days, just make sure its enabled in your message settings
