Why have you been stung for £90. Are you not getting extra leg room?

Free drinks on a short haul flight wouldn't add up to £90

They told us we'd get free drinks plus extra legroom, which is why we agreed, then when we had the paperwork there were no free drinks. It would have been fine for drinks and legroom but it's too much just for the legroom.

How long is the flight there and back in minutes?

They've never given 'free' drinks on shorthaul flights. It's not long since they started offering them on longhaul. I'd willingly pay more than £30 though for extra legroom on their shorthaul aircraft.

David Burling won't get an email sent to that address. It's just a 'public' email address. It will arrive in his 'office' and be passed back to the correct department to be dealt with. The CEO of the Northern Region/TUI Executive Director will not deal with complaints about £90

Thomson Customer Service is dire though, and has been for many years. Just another reason to add to the list of why to avoid them.

Yep, that's my experience as well, extra leg room on short haul is just as it says, there are no other 'frills' to go with it and I guess that's the same for any airline operating a short haul single class cabin, certainly applies to Thomas Cook, I've paid for extra legroom on both TC and Thomson flights and never had complimentary drinks, mind you, I'm not bothered about drinks on the plane, I tend to drink enough to keep hydrated but not so much that I need to use the aircraft toilets, I find I can easily make a 2-3 hour flight without needing a wee.

OH is tee total and I don't drink alcohol before or during a flight. We take a couple of litres of water each on with us, and then just buy anymore if we need it. Our flights are just over 4 hrs and I do need a wee lol.

We use Thomson all the time because they do a specific hotel in Spain that we like, we have never been contacted by Thomson offering any upgrades, we generally book direct from Thomson website but have also used our local Thomson shop. You can add extras by logging in to your booking but nowhere either in the brochure, on the website on in the extras section of you booking does it say that unlimited free drinks will be supplied if you book extra legroom, why would they offer this? The cabin crew have enough to do on a short flight without messing about serving people free drinks, it's far more lucrative for Thomson (or any other airline) cabin crew to spend the time selling you stuff. Also they really don't want to be encouraging excessive drinking on the flight for safety reasons and for the comfort of the other passengers. there are three options from what I see, 1) The OP misunderstood what was offered. 2) Whoever contacted the OP was an agent, not a Thomson employee and either deliberately mislead the OP or wrongly thought drinks were part of the package. 3) It didn't happen at all, the OP has an axe to grind with Thomson for other reasons and is Trolling.

£30 for extra leg room seats seems very cheap to me. Then to think free drinks came at that price...................

We have paid £18 each just to select our seats in advance on a Thomson flight in June. My husband and I don't bother but on this flight I am with a friend and we do like to chat!
