On the GOV.co.uk website I'm not saying that is correct it's just what I have read somewhere .
I have been quoted £250 to from a solicitor in this field to give me a valuation of the cost of freehold so if I get no joy from the actual freeholder then that will be my next move .0 -

You think it is waste of money getting the valuation?
I have been looking through all my relevant paper work and it seems that the freehold was purchased in 2004 from the owner off the council..so my previous owners purchased the property as freehold and have created it back to leasehold.0 -
Thanks for the advice..hopefully the freeholder will enter Informal negotiation first0

Had a response from the freeholders agent this morning who have told me they can not really reduce the price and would probably get that price on the open market .
Also stated that he is not sure the lease can be extended beacuse it is a house and not a flat ..and added he doesn't see how extending the lease would be useful to me anyway .0 -
Basically I own a leasehold house which currently has 75 years left on. The house was originally freehold but was turned into leasehold just before I bought it in 2011 by the previous owners .
The lease created in 2011 stated it was for 99 years from 1992.0 -
Why would someone turn their freehold house into a leasehold one?
Just to get 300 quid a year?0
