Hi Bathgate, I used to go through the same thing with my previous job. I stayed away in hotels and often travelled four hours a day, plus a full day at work. I used to feel sick on a Sunday afternoon, dreading the week ahead.
Now I work 3 miles away and often cycle. It certainly beats sitting in a crowded train carriage listening to screaming kids or awful ring tones on mobiles. I love getting into my own bed everynight, hotels are a novelty at first but awful after a while. You can't beat home!Second and final LBM 01/01/11 Nearly got there but fell of wagon. HAVE to do it this time :mad:0 -

I hope you don't mind me joining in. I just got paid £170 from quidco in the nick of time, as payday isn't till next Friday and I have had a lot of expense. I took a holiday, only camping but it all adds up, and had to kit the kids out for back to school. Also it is my weekend off and the weather is supposed to be nice so I will get out on my bike and do some fruit foraging.Anyone who lives within their means suffers from a lack of imagination:beer:

Hey, great thread.
I think over time, and after realising i can beat this, i dont feel unhappy anymore about money, i know that there will be times when i have abundance and times where i may be short (although the abundance times will be more frugal so this shouldnt happen).
I think at the moment im happy about starting my latest IT course soon, and also the recent birth of my 2nd niece.
Finally it is the weekend so i can get over my flu in peace.
*edit speaking of quidco, i will be receiving 50 quid in October - cue in mr burns stylee - "excellent"*0 -
I'm on holiday the week after next, spending it going to see one of my best friends who I've not seen since the start of the year - and on the money front, I got all the travel really cheap and have managed to put aside what I need for the trip without getting into any more debt or affecting my normal budgets too much!
Oh.. and it's Friday today, and it's sunny!

Morning :hello:
My DD found out yesterday that she had a really good result in a GCSE she took a year early, totally unexpected as she struggles in school and i'm so proud of her :j0 -
After a year of hospital treatment my hubby has just been told by his consultant that he doesn't need to see him again,so I am very happy today.
Also, the final payment to one of our creditors has been made today,so that is another debt finished. Not out of the woods yet,but things are certainly brighter than this time last year..Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool.0 -
