LauraLooDFWB well done you! It is lovely when you actually plan for Christmas and start the new year in credit on your bank account. I did that once, many many moons ago, ahhhhhhh.

Anyway, penguin83, this spider had boots on.

  • On the 14th Sept I leave my present job for pastures new and something much closer to home. For the past year and a half, I've worked 120 miles round trip away from home, so have been getting up at 5 am every day, sitting on a bus for hours, doing a days worth of work, getting him at 8pm, then slumping on the sofa in a heap waiting for the next day to start.

As of 17th Sept, I'll be working 3 miles from home, I'll be cycling in every day, I'll suddenly find an extra 30 hours a week of free time that was previously spent on buses, I'll have time to cook properly, eat healthily and start seeing my friends again. This past year and a half has been horrendously difficult, but I've got my head down and just done my job, and my reward is the opportunity that starts a week on Monday.

    I'm overjoyed at that thought!
Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!

I have made overpayments this week when I feared I would not be able to!

Also, I have had some possible good news about an additional "thread" to my business - won't go into it until it is all confirmed, but hopefully after Christmas I will have another little line of income!!

El, say Hi to Rich! Hope she is enjoying her new life!

  • I'll add to this one, I got my electricity bill yesterday with the very unexpected news that we have overpaid by £120  They were going to carry the credit over to my next bill, so I rang & got them to pay it back into my account, plus reduce my direct debit every month :D

My 17 yr old son (who lives with his dad) got a full time job for the summer hols:T and has decided to stay there and not go back to college as they will help him with further qualifications:j . That means from next month I don't have to pay any more maintenance  therefore i will have £190 more each month to throw at my debts:T , so in 8 months I will have paid off BC.
So thats loads of things to be happy about just from one event!

  • I am sat here before I leave for work, and my gorgeous litle dog has asked for a cuddle. He makes me really happy, he is always so pleased to see me and very affectionate.

I love the hours we spend at weekends, walking across fields. I have a really stressful, often confrontational job and it would be so easy to grab a glass of wine to wind down when I get home, instead I am greeted by a wagging tail and pleading eyes to go for a walkies, I love him, being around him is theraputic.
Second and final LBM 01/01/11 Nearly got there but fell of wagon. HAVE to do it this time
