Converting shed to office

Hi,

I have a shed which is 20 meters away from my house in read garden, and I am planning to turn it into an office for me. However, I need to bring electricity, and water there.

I talked to my electrician and he said that i need to dig 10 inches, but will be able to an armoured cable next to other water pipes. Is this right ?

thanks

If OP is like me, I have a 3 cuppa per toilet visit ratio.

Water would make it easier to brew and save a lot of walks back and forth!

Wouldn't taking a container of water down every morning be a lot cheaper than installing a water pipe?

    I don't think he's considered a waste pipe either.

Or, perhaps he simply wants to run electricity to his shed and it's been established that this would run alongside where his water supply pipes already sit ?
  • Not sure a bog standard shed would make for much of an office; presumably its uninsulated and would be freezing in the winter and pretty hot in the summer.

Maybe the OP thinks that with electric and water the "shed" could be rented out to migrants for £60 pp pw.................

    Just a thought...

Maybe we need a new law, like Godwin's, for how far unrelated threads normally go before migrants are mentioned.

We could call it King's Law, after Elvis, who recorded "Suspicious Minds."

    I wouldn't dig 10" - I would be looking more at 600mm (2 foot).
