Fluid Intake

Hi,
During the day I drink a lot of coffee at work, I've always struggled to drink water and while I may fill up a glass in the morning, it's usually still there by the end of the day. I've recently bought a large bottle of Ribena and I have to say that I am finding this much easier to take with between 2-3 glasses consumed per day and with one less cup of coffee consumed.
My question is, is this a good move health wise (I also want to lose a little weight) or have I made a poor decision?

a 500ml bottle of shop bought Ribena (already diluted) contains 50g of sugar, twice the recommended amount recommended for an adult. You would be far better off with sugar free squash but water is still better for you. Have you tried chilled water with a slice of lemon or lime?0

I also find water on it's own difficult to drink.
I add some sugar free diluting juice to it. Probably about 1/8th of what people would normally use just to give it a slight flavour. All your base are belong to us.0 -
If you're stuggling I would just put the smallest drop of ribena in the water just to add a bit of flavour.
I drink water with a lemon slice, but you could add orange or lime to make it a little fruity.0 -
The Ribena won't do you any good. Try adding some fruit to your water, or even cucumber. It does help with the taste. I also find having a cute or nice looking water bottle helps me drink more water.0

I'll finish this course of Ribena, it's a 850 ml bottle that contains 26g of sugar.
Are there other options other than cutting up fruits and adding to water? This is for work and I need it as convenient as possible.
I've noticed that since buying the Ribena I have been drinking considerably more and I read fluid intake is necessary for removing excess weight so I'll need a substitution.0 -

Suger free diluting juice. As little as possible. All your base are belong to us.0 -
Have you tried drinking cold fruit teas?
either by using a blackcurrant tea bag to make then chilling in fridge or you can buy bottled fruit teas. I see a lot in my local Chinese supermarket.
if you make your own this gives you absolute control on sugar content0 -
Fruit teas are both high in acid and high in sugar. Using them as anything other than an occasional treat will result in tooth damage.
Eg this https://www.whittard.co.uk/instant-tea/instant-tea-flavours/instant-tea-english-fruits.htm?productid=19645&gclid=CJ7XxZjA18wCFbYK0wod-tYNyw. If you look at the ingredient list it is mostly sugar.
We were designed to drink water to live. Adding even slices of fruit adds sugar and acid to drinks , you are then not just "hydrating" you are having sugar attacks.
Go cold turkey , put tap water in the fridge in a jug to let the chlorine and evaporate off and hydrate with water.0 -
I have a habit of not drinking very much at all, but I found that I started drinking a lot more water when I got a filter jug - our water is very hard and we live near a treatment plant so it always tasted very 'chlorine-y' to me, but with a jug it tastes a bit more neutral and it's nice to have cold water always to hand. I also find that I'm better at drinking more if I make it part of my routine, so I'll have a small glass of water when I wake up, I have a bottle at work and I aim for half in the morning, and half in the afternoon, a large glass with dinner and then another small glass in the evening. Growing up I never really liked the taste of plain water, but now as an adult it's pretty much all I generally drink.0
