BT International Freedom Substitute

As long standing BT customers who have their share of poor service over the years, we frequently look for alternatives. As customers who use the 600 minute international freedom to calls friends and family in Europe, we are struggling to find any provider who offer similar packages. I understand Plusnet and John Lewis do but it is a 300 minute package with 30 minute call restrictions, where BT have no limit as long as you do not exceed the 600 minutes in total.
Our priority is a good service that works well and someone to help when things go wrong. BT is well known for its customer service but have a monopoly on the infrastructure. Our house is connected to Virgin system but I feel this would be an out of the frying pan and into the fire move.
Does anyone know of a suitable alternative that would give is similar international freedom. Cost is a secondary factor.
