Got my pac first, I still had 3 months left on my contact but I was willing to buy myself out of it using the money from selling my old phone. Just get your pac and wait for a call from retentions
  • Do you have a tactic, Boundy? I dunno if im too nice but I cant get anything like that through EE

It took about 3 days to get a call. My new S7 deal still doesn't top the previous retentions deal that it replaces, i had a Z2 on preorder with 9gb of data, unlimited mins/texts, 2 years Spotify and because I was the one of the first preorders I also got a 32" Sony bravia tv for free. £70 cost for the phone, £26 pm. So phone = £600 + TV = £200 + £240 for Spotify - £70 device cost means the airtime cost MINUS £346 over 2 years. I fully appreciate that it only worked out so well as i needed a new TV first the bedroom and was already paying for Spotify but even if you take that out, removing the device cost from the 2 years still left me paying less £100 for 2 years of airtime.

The exact deal I got was the the red 6gb tariff@ £39 with the phone cost adjusted to £0 and 2gb retentions data added for 2 years and a 20% discount making it £31.20, i also got a free Gear VR. I then got a further 2gb of data added as sorry for them cocking up the first 2 bills (common Vodafone theme)

Be fully prepared to walk away and switch provider, if they think you'll stay, they don't need to try and keep you
