20 yrs ago, I had a major op and now have a bag for urine. When full, it holds a sizable amount. For some time now I've been thinking of marketing it by the bag full. It could be hung and a pipe attached to it and drip feed things like tomatoes, cucumber etc. Until sales took off, these full bags could be stored easily, without risk of leakage, all the time they would be maturing. One inexpensive advert in Gardeners World for example, might bring in considerable interest, who knows, I could even consider patenting the idea and make my fortune. I'm now trying to think of a suitable marketing name which would attract potential users. Maybe you could think of something, apart from the obvious.

I've been watching outrageous wasters on bbc3, and they have been using diluted urine to feed the plants.

I think this is a good idea- hubbie has offered to pee in a bucket and daughter uses a potty so we could be making the most of this resource but i have a few questions....
does anyone know how many parts water to urine you should use?
can you use it on edible plants?
should you limit how often you use it?

also heard you can put it in compost bin, but again do we dilute? and how often should we do it?

god if my friends knew i was posting this i think they would run a mile!!!:rotfl:

Is that why everything grows so well on the London Marathon route?!! Those gardens get well watered :rotfl:

Why is everyone cringeing at this? After all, we use well-rotted horse manure without a second thought! Did you know that farmers are allowed to spread the contents of their septic tanks onto their fields once a year? Makes you think.....

been using urine for years, its brill for nitrogen.1 part !!!! 10/20 parts water gives plants a good healthy green look, also for flowering stage black strap molasses cheap as chips. not one chemical used in the garden.
  • Er, I was going to post a lengthy comment, but after reading through I find I really need to go use the bathroom....................
