it seems to say 10 pounds if one waits 2 weeks . 23 odd pounds if priority service. is this definitely the correct site and best way to get a copy of a birth certificate? anyone know.

Is the office the birth was registered local? If so visit or call same price and often quicker.0

If we go to the registry office we can have one for £10 in 3 days.. they changed it since I last looked.

The standard cost for a birth certificate in England and Wales is £10 (unless the birth happened in the last few months then it will be £7). If you contact the nearest office to where the Birth occurred they may be able to do it sooner than 2 weeks. The lowest cost will be £10 though. If you need it in a hurry then most places charge a premium fee.0

I've just ordered one tonight, it was £11 inc. postage and said it would be 5-7 days. Priority was £25 and dispatched next working dayOver futile odds

Hi my wife recently found out her father is not on her birth certificate . She's 25 and he mother left her with him dad from a young age . They don't speak to her mother or see her . How can she get her father out on her certificate without her mothers permission . They went to court and got joint custody but the solicitors don't have record because it was early 90s and they did everything on paper back then so the records have been destroyed and also rang the courts who can't find anothing because it was so long ago
. Thank you jake0 -

Jake, you really need to start your own thread. I'm sure you'll get the information you need that way. They call me Dr Worm... I'm interested in things; I'm not a real doctor but I am a real worm.0 -
If her parents weren't married then her father won't be on the birth certificate unless he was there when she was registered.0
